Creating Your Own Designs!

Small Change for Big Difference

At Flat Rate Wood Floors, we understand that every detail of your home reflects your personal taste, charm, and interests. For this reason, we stand ready with a full array of services and advice to help our customers achieve their unique design goals.

We have a variety of stains available that can be used to enhance or even alter the natural color of wood floors. We also provide bleaching services.

Your Style, Your Choice

Change Your Hardwood Floor Color

Bleaching is a process commonly used to turn hard wood floors lighter. We use a special process to apply a bleaching solution onto the floor that will change the floor's color without causing undue harm to the wood itself.

Then, a stain is applied on top of the bleach. Using a white stain over bleach produces an extraordinary effect that makes the hardwood floor appear white, but still lets the wood grain show through.

Bleaching is also used prior to a treatment called “pickling.” This makes the floor very light in color, but still blond like the natural wood and not completely white. It is often used as a preparation for “antiquing” and other specialty design effects.
